Super Collagen Type 1 & 3

Yay, my 4 bottles of Super Collagen have arrived from States. I can start taking tomorrow to improve my skin. Recently, I came across a beauty blog from Singapore talking about this Super Collagen which was recommended by her doctor after she injured herself. Her review together with her followers were good on this Super Collagen. I checked out at the website that sells the Super Collagen Type 1 & 3 and decided not to procrastinate and shop at one of their online retailer to make my purchase immediately after reading through the good reviews. Since Tony was supportive, I made a purchases of 4 bottles at one go. The price is much more cheaper than Meji Powder.  I took taking Meji Powder 4-5 years ago,but I did not see any result at all, I stopped after a year. It is no harm trying and moreover this super collagen is not expensive. If it does not work just dump it.Everyone know that collagen plays a very important part in our body. What is Collagen? It is a type of protein, fibrous in nature. It connects and supports other body tissues, such as skin, bone, tendons, muscles, and cartilage.. Some people called it “glue” that connects the body together. Without it, our body would fall apart literally. Collagen also works hand-in-hand with Elastin to provide our body tissues the firmness and strength. Collagen is important in many parts of the body, even our blood vessels rely collagen..

With age catches, it is extremely important for me to really take care of myself. I regret that I did not start out young, always thinking that it was too young to start taking care of my skin. It was just a lame excuse. I was literally too lazy to be bothered with it. Now that, my skin is really in a bad condition. My skin looked dead and dead, itch frequently…it is a wake up call for me to take some action, it is never too late to do something.

Collagen is  build a protein net on the skin, trapping moisture. Resulting in skin becoming softer and more delicate, ith improved resilience and firmness. Collagen when absorbed deep to the skin, helps to stimulate cells to increase production of their own collagen. The skin very quickly regains firmness, elasticity and healthy looks. WOW...Look at the GREAT benefits  of collagen on skin:

    D.I.Y Honey, Lemon Oatmeal Mask

Honey is a natural astringent. It helps to refines pores, tighten pores and retards wrinkles and anti-blemish, at the same time it is moisturizing.

Lemons helps to brighten and exfoliates the skin. It also purifies the pores with a good source of  Vitamin C too.

Oatmeal  cleanses and  helps to relieve dryness, restoring natural moisture balance to aid in healing minor irritations.

With the combination of these 3 ingredients. it would definitely make a good natural treatment mask for dry skin. I decided to try it out after my good experience on oatmeal cleanser which I have been using for more than a week. This mask was kind of messy but the result was good, my skin felt cleansed and recharged without any irritation. Beauty always come at a price. It is definitely worth a try minus the messiness..

    2 Tablespoons Oatmeal
    2 Tablespoons Honey

1.Put honey on a bowl, put the bowl onto a bigger bowl with some hot water to warm up the honey. Until the honey becomes runny.
2.Mix in the lemon juice and oatmeal, until you have a  smooth and consistent paste so that the paste will stay on your face without falling it off.
3.Put on a hair colouring cape if you have one, else with a towel tie to your neck..this is help you to catch some fallen oatmeal so it will not be so messy on the floor.
4.Apply the paste slowly and evenly using with hand on your clean face and neck. Avoid the eye area.
    5. Sit back and leave the mask on for 30 minutes.

    D.I.Y Oatmeal Cleanser

.After using my DIY egg white peel off mask, I decided to look around the internet for some DIY masks using honey as I know that honey is good for the skin. Since I am in New Zealand, with pure and good quality honey readily available here I should make full use of it. By chance, I came across a website, mentioning about Oatmeal having many health benefits.  Oats are an excellent source of fiber, omega-3 fatty acids, thiamine, iron, beta-glucan and the anti-oxidants known as avenanthramides. Beta-glucan may help blood sugar levels, while avenanthramides may help promote healthy circulation. Oatmeal is also thought to aid in reducing cholesterol levels and it may boost the immune system. It is also good for the skin, provide soothing relief from sunburn, and other irritations, and is known to heal skin and open pores. A number of moisturizers and beauty products in stores contain oatmeal for its benefits to the skin as it absorbs odors, treats acne and improves dry skin.

Since Oatmeal has so many benefits and currently I am watching my diet, I decided to get a packet of oatmeals (Rolled Oats) for my weight loss program and my daily beauty regime. You can use oatmeal to make your own cleanser, scrub and mask and also eat. Why not?

It has been a week since I made my Oatmeal Cleanser and started using it. It has been very soothing for my face and my skin's condition has improved. My T-zone has less flaky dead skin, the dryness and redness have reduced. Somehow, my skin has restores the natural balance of moisture on the skin. This oatmeal cleanser has a gentle exfoliation effort, it gets rid of all the impurities and dead skin cells which leaves my skin feeling  soft, clean and smooth without feeling the harshness/dryness normal cleanser had on my skin. I will continue to use this D.I.Y Oatmeal cleanser as I am hoping that it will help to mitigate the condition of my dermatitis.

    D.I.Y Oatmeal Cleanser
    Oatmeal (Rolled Oats)
    Food blender or processor
An airtight container or a ziplock bag for storage

    1. Put a cup (or more) of oatmeal into a food processor, process it until it turned out fine as just flour. Store it in a airtight container/ziplock bag for your daily use.
    2. Take a tablespoon of the oatmeal onto your palm. Add some water to make it into a paste.
    3. Massage the paste onto your face in a circular motion for 1 minute. Rinse off with lukewarm water and pat dry.

This can be quite messy, so I like to do it just before I take my shower.

D.I.Y Egg White Peel Off Mask

Living and working here in Auckland with high cost of living than Singapore, I have learnt to live in a more frugal lifestyle. Always think twice and sometimes triple before I made any purchase. Now, the only luxury I have for my beauty products would be my Estee Lauder Night Reair Serum and the perfumes. Looking at the mirror the other day, I realized that there were some blackheads above my upper lip, so I took out my peel off mask and realized that it has expired. I can't get a similar here and the choices are really limited especially for Asian skin. I have a very sensitive skin plus dermatitis make it very hard to get a suitable products and always skeptical about the claims stated. It is always a case of trial and error then not suitable throw away. I can't afford to do it here so decided to use a "primitive" method  I used 23years ago when I was a teenager using egg white. As teenager, I can't afford to buy beauty products so I will use egg white to apply on my face and washed it off after it dried off. It gives a good tighting and whitening effect at a cheap cost.

Using the white egg and some tissues, it will give the peel off effect just like the peel off mask which you bought off the shelves.

    Things you need:
    1 Egg White
Some tissues-separate 2 ply tissues and cut it into pieces
A brush-As a facial brush is expensive, I decided to get a cheap kitchen brush instead as it serves the same purpose.

    1. Crack open an egg by separating the egg white into a small bowl.
    2. Using the brush, apply onto your face avoiding the eyes area, eyebrows and mouth.
    3. Put on the tissues pieces onto the area which you have applied the egg white.
    4. Apply another layer of egg white over the tissues. I applied 3 to 4 layers of white egg over the tissues as there are quite alot of egg white left and also for better coverage.
    5. Let it dried thoroughly, peel off in a upward direction. You will notice that a lot of black heads and facial hairs are being removed. Cleanse your face and you will feel than your face is brightened and deeply cleansed with also the removal of dead skin cells.

It is cheap and good in a naturally way with chemical! I plan to do it every week from onwards, Tony can see  that my face looked totally cleansed and bright after I done this egg white peel off mask on Saturday.
