Kangnam Station (Korean Restaurant) and No 1 Panckae (Korean)

On Sat, I met up one of my ex-colleague-Rose from Singapore who is here in Auckland doing her one month tour in New Zealand. We met at Skycity as it is one of the easiest landmark to meet someone. After we met, we decided to stroll along Queen St until Rose suggested to go to the Art Gallery. I have no objection, however neither of us know the way there. We roamed aimlessly  trying to locate the Art Gallery (though I have been here for 2.5years, I am totally LOST when I am in town). Before we can find the gallery, we chanced upon  this Korean Restaurant - Kangnam Station. Rose suggested that why don't we settled for lunch first before to proceed to find the Art Gallery.

This restaurant was converted from a railway carriage on the edge of the theatre precinct which is great for a quick and filling pre- or post-show meal. This restaurant has been listed as one of the "cheap eats" in Metro Food Blog.

It is a great restaurant, staff are very friendly. Food is very delicious and the portion is generous. I had a spicy BBQ chicken while Rose had a Tofu Soup. Both were served with steamed rice .Condiments such as - Kimchi, Seaweed, Kumara , hard boiled egg and other sides were served with our main dishes too. The whole meal cost $26 (including a bottle of Diet Coke) for us which was very reasonable.

The restaurant is located:
329 Queen St
Auckland 1010
09-309 1588

After our meal, with the help of the staff we were able to locate the Art Gallery.

Completed our Art gallery's tour, we adventured  back to Queen St. Again we  chanced upon this No 1 Pancake (Korean) Kiosk at the:

Corner Wellesley and Lorne Streets,
Auckland Central
Auckland 1010

The pancake looked too tempting to give it a miss. We decided to order a couple (Ham N Cheese and Cinnamon Sugar) though we were still full with our earlier meal. It was simply delicious and tasted just like Roti Canai/Prata to me, feeling so comforting. I strongly reccomend you to give it a try if you are in the vicinity.  No 1 Pancake is also one of the reccomended "cheap eats" in Metro Food Blog too.
