Tony and I love crepes. The first time we had crepes together was in Hong Kong, during then we stayed in Royal Plaza Hotel which has a crepe house in their shopping mall. We will have a crepe daily for dessert after dinner during our stay there. Last month, when we were in Hawaii we were surprised to see a crepe house in Honolulu..crepes brought back alot of sweet memories..We love crepes!
Few months back, Tony and I went round Auckland searching for a crepe roller and finally we found it however it has not been utilised. I have too much free time so afternoon I have prepared crepes batter and decided to have crepes for our desserts tonight. Try it out as it is so simple and you will fall in love with it just like us!
Ingredients:
2 Eggs
2 Tablespoons of Butter, melted
1/2 Cup of Milk
1/2 Cup of Water
1 Cup of Plain Flour or All-purpose flour
1/4 Teaspoon of Salt
2 Tablespoon of Sugar1.In a large mixing bowl, whisk together all the wet ingredients together with the sugar and salt. Sift the flour into the wet mixture. Whisk until the batter becomes smooth. Sift the batter into a separate bowl to remove the lumps if there is any.
2.Heat a lightly oiled frying pan in medium heat. Pour the the batter onto the pan, use a crepe roller to spread the batter coat evenly over the pan or you can tilt the pan in a circular motion.
3.Cook the crepe for about 2 minutes on each side or until the crepe is light brown.
4. Spread the crepes with your favourite filling like jam or ice-cream or whipped cream, rolled it up and serve.
