One of the Saturday, I literally drove all the way to Chinatown at Ti Rakau Dr JUST to eat this bowl of Chicken Laska. Though this was only the 2nd time I was having this Laska at Chinatown, it was by far the BEST in Auckland. It is definitely worth the drive to go all the way there from Green Bay, it is about half an hour drive from Green Bay if there is no traffic. There is nothing attractive at the Chinatown in Auckland except the foodcourt there. There are great varieties of Asian Food in this Foodcourt, the Chicken Laska which I had was served in KL Kitchen. It was authentic just tasted the way it was served in SIngapore and Malaysia, it bought back some comforting emotional when I tucked in. This laska was served in a mixture of "yellow" noodles (made of wheat flour) and Mee Hoon (Vermicelli made from rice flour). It is quite common to have laska with a mixture of noodles and Mee Hoon in my country, it adds different textures to the dish and yet do not give you a bloated feeling after you finished the whole bowl of laska...since the laksa gravy contains coconut milk-which has a high oil content. This laska is served with chicken parts, some potatoes and Tau Pok (a deep dried tofu) and fresh beansprouts at the bottom of the noodles. For Chicken Laska fan's residing in Auckland, the laska that is served in KL Kitchen in Chinatown's Foodcourt is definitely worth going for. :)
