This is a very simple stir fry using basic Japanese condiments- Mirin, Sake and Miso paste that I had in my kitchen pantry. This was a non-labour intensive cooking using Asian vegetable stir fry recipe with Japanese-style flavor infusion. Cooking is all about experimenting. There is no right or wrong in cooking, since each individual has a different palate and preference.
Serving: 2-3
Ingredients:
350g Pork fillet, slice thinly
300g Flat Bean, cut into 3-4cm long
8 Button Mushrooms, cut into halves1 Clove Garlic, mince
2 Tablespoon Miso Paste
1 Tablespoon Mirin (Japanese Sweet Cooking Wine)
2 Tablespoon Sake
1 1/2 Tablespoon Oil
1/4 Cup Water (Optional)
1/4 Cup Water (Optional)
Dash of Pepper
1. Heat a small pot of salted water to a boil. Carefully, add in the cut beans and cook for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes, only until they're slightly cooked through and tender (I love the beans to be very soft, it depends on your preference). Drain and set aside.
2. Heat up a frying pan with oil on medium. Lightly brown the garlic and add in the sliced pork, turn the heat to high. Stir fry for 1-2mins.
3. Add in the seasoning-miso, mirin and sake. Try to dissolve the miso by stirring constantly, there should be some liquid from the pork, if not add in the water. Once it comes to boil, add in the mushroom turn the heat to medium-low. Cover with a lid, simmer for a minute.
4. Add the blanch beans and simmer for further 1-2mins to heat up the beans, just before serving sprinkle a dash of pepper. Dish up and serve with cooked rice. Enjoy!
