Finally........my work permit approved!

After a long wait of more than 40days... for my work permit to be approved. Finally, it got approved within an hour after Tony made a call to them and now from a work permit to a work visa. Submitted my application in 30 Jun 2010, waiting daily and checking NZ immigration for status but it always reflect "pending". Today, we decided to drop in the Immigration Office to check as well as wanting to take back my passport for my trip to Sydney and Hawaii in 2 weeks' time. Was told to contact the case person in charge of my case, so I rang up personally and spoke to the operator but I was told to leave a message to the person in charge and at the same time, I was told by the operator that the person in charge was "waiting" for my Police Character Certificate before they can process my application. I was so mad, noone from immigration has called me to inform me or email me about that and not even the online service message board. I was informed through an email earlier that should the immigration required additional documents or info they will contact me.....but it doesnt seem to be the case....if we did not call them up today then I will be waiting forever for my work permit to be approved...

So I told Tony what happened after the call...he was as mad as me. He flew me back to Singapore in June to visit my family as well as to get the Police Character Certificate. However, Singapore Police will not give you one unless they have a letter from NZ immigration that they required that...all these information together with Singapore Police Leaflet was given to NZ immigration why I did not submitted Police Character Certificate was indicated clearly in my application. What is What, man!! Singapore Police don't want to give and they need a letter from NZ as NZ wanted this but did not give me letter to produce to Singapore Police.....

Tony made a call to the person in charge of my case, he managed to talk to him because he is a Kiwi. After a making a small fuss about noone informed me and that we are waiting daily like an idiot... the officer changed my application for a work permit to a work visa instead (though I don't really know what is the difference)  and it got approved less than an hour. The treatment was totally different...as an applicant I am only allowed to leave a message for the officer but as a Kiwi, he is able to talk to the officer on the behalf of the applicant. 

Yes...finally I can start to look for job....but is that really what I want...Hahaha...I am not sure about myself too. Humans are just too complicated, I am just ONE of them. Are you too?
