I would least expect to have a chance to see cherry blossom especially in Auckland. Usually, you will see advertisement by travel agents highlighting tours in Japan, Korea or Taiwan to experience Cherry blossom but not in New Zealand. And also I will never plan a trip just to see cherry blossom as you will have to get the timing right else your trip will be wasted.
You know what, we have a ugly and bald tree just beside the spa, you will never imagine that is a Cherry Tree until it blossomed when spring was here. I was really surprised that this ugly tree is a Cherry Tree, so never judge a person by it's cover...I am loving this tree as it is just beside the spa pool you will have a good view of the cherry flowers. The cherry tree has yet to go into full bloom, there are still alot of buds...they may flower at different stages...

Ya, many times, you cannot judge a book by it covers... keke.... Hmm.. looks like spring is a nice time to visit NZ... how about March or April? :)
March is the beginning of Autumn...all leaves of trees would have been withered by then. I was here April, it was quite cold and was raining and windy most of the times..due to El Nino effect so hopefully the weather will be better next year.
